10 ר‡ל ˘ - י ˜ ון ‡ייז ˙ נ ˘ 2024 Grid for Educational Settings Tamar Shtiglits The Grid AAC software for the iPad and for Windows-based computers is used by thousands of students who have difficulty expressing themselves. It is used primarily as an individual solution for communication. However, over the years, the use of Grid has widely expanded. Today, Grid is utilized to create engaging and interactive classroom environments and serves as a solution to promote language and participation for all students, not only for individual AAC users. Educational settings use Grid to create symbol-based content for all students, which greatly supports both the AAC users and their peers who do not use a personal AAC system. This article presents a variety of Grid sets along with strategies that are beneficial for classroom and group use including lesson plans, social stories, scripts, schedules, literacy materials and more. At d-bur, our team is committed to creating content for educational settings so that all students can access the curriculum, and so that teams can spend more time teaching and educating rather than preparing accessible content. d-bur invites all our Grid community to discuss their needs so that we can continue to serve the community as best as we can.
